Senior Technical Recruiter

Billie Wathen has served as BreakPoint Labs’ Senior Technical Recruiter since June 2024, bringing over two decades of experience in government contracting and human resources to the role. Her affiliation with the company dates back to 2021, reflecting her longstanding commitment to BreakPoint Labs’ mission and values. 

With a career spanning various leadership positions, including Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior HR Director for multiple organizations, Billie has been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of several government contracting IT companies. Her expertise has been pivotal in navigating numerous acquisitions, mergers, and buy-outs, demonstrating her strategic acumen in the industry. 

Billie’s passion for recruitment stems from her belief that it’s the single most important facet of Human Resources and the route to building a successful company. Her approach to talent acquisition is rooted in the philosophy that prioritizing employee well-being directly contributes to organizational success.  

Prior to her tenure in government contracting, Billie served as a Regional Director of Human Resources at Sprint, where she honed her skills in managing large-scale HR operations. Her earlier career highlight includes spearheading a nationwide recruitment effort that brought over 28,000 employees to a major retailer, showcasing her ability to execute large-scale staffing initiatives. At BreakPoint Labs, Billie leverages her extensive background to identify and attract top talent, ensuring the company maintains its competitive edge in the cybersecurity and technology landscape.  

Billie earned her BA degree from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Her 22 years of experience in the government contracting field, combined with her previous roles in corporate HR, provide her with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in technical recruitment for specialized sectors.
