BreakPoint Labs was founded in 2015 as a highly technical cybersecurity services firm headquartered in the National Capital Region.

BreakPoint Labs is dedicated to providing the methods and means for sustainable, measurable, and effective cybersecurity operations. Powered by highly motivated, experienced cybersecurity professionals with technical and scientific proficiency, BreakPoint Labs is developing and leveraging technology to enable a more secure cyberspace.

Since its inception, BreakPoint Labs has served as a trusted partner and advisor to diverse clients across the public and private sector. From assessment engagements with a Fortune 50 corporation to protecting and defending complex research environments within the Department of Defense, BreakPoint Labs has delivered high-end cybersecurity services to ensure secure, resilient infrastructure and reduce cyber risk.

Our Story

Since its inception in 2015, BreakPoint Labs set out on a mission to “Break The Cycle,” which means to perform at the highest standards and deliver impactful, lasting improvements to our clients’ security posture.

For nearly a decade, BreakPoint Labs has been laser-focused on value creation for clients in need of capable, reliable, and trusted cybersecurity services. BreakPoint Labs has demonstrated an ability to earn and maintain trusted relationships with clients and partners by making their mission objectives synonymous with our priorities.

BreakPoint Labs formed as cybersecurity services firm by Thomas George, William Glodek, & Andrew McNicol

Issued DoD Top Secret Facility Clearance (FCL) from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)

Began support to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in cybersecurity research and development (R&D), including advanced network sensor development and high value asset (HVA) assessments

Developed and deployed an advanced defensive cyber operations (DCO) platform for DoD's recognized enterprise RDT&E networks

Began technical support to High Performance Computing (HPC) Architecture for Cyber Situational Awareness (HACSAW) implementing a data science workbench to enable DoD researchers

Awarded GSA Schedule contract for Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS), including penetration testing, incident response, cyber hunt, and risk and vulnerability assessments

Completed DSCA Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) with no findings, validating strict adherence to the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements

Began technical services supporting a DoD Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP), including the migration of 200+ network sensors supporting the DoD R&D community

Began support to DARPA Cyber Hunting At Scale (CHASE) Program, including the development and on-going evaluation of AI/ML-enabled cyber analytics

Achieved ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification for attracting, hiring, and retaining technically-proficient cybersecurity professionals

Awarded five-year prime contract by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for large-scale penetration testing services across operating divisions (OPDIVs) and other Department components

Issued a Direct to Phase II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract by the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, in conjunction with the U.S. Army, in the field of cybersecurity analysis for critical infrastructure resilience

Successfully appraised at maturity level 3 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Services (CMMI-SVC) for the delivery of cybersecurity services to DoD, Federal, State, and commercial clients

Awarded a multi-year Security Control Assessor-Validator (SCA-V) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Services prime contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

Awarded Direct to Phase II SBIR contract for the BreakPoint Labs Integrated Security of Operational Networks (BISON) Platform

Completed NIST SP 800-171 assessment, satisfying Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 requirements and reporting to Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS)

Directly supported U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) attainment of DoD Cyber Red Team certification from the National Security Agency (NSA), with a focus on testing and enhancing the resiliency of critical infrastructure

Conducted a covert red team engagement for the Department of Commerce (DOC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to evaluate security controls within the Census Bureau

Successfully completed DCAA audit certifying corporate account system and proceducres in accordance with DoD requirements

Issued a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the DoD Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) to provide test and evaluation (T&E) services for new AI/ML capabilities introduced within the Department

Awarded SBIR Phase III contract to continue advancements in BISON technology, including a focus on Additive Manufacturing (AM) environments and workflows

Established a strategic, SBA-approved Joint Venture to pursue additional contract opportunities

Awarded five-year technical services contract by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division for RMF and assessment and authorization (A&A) services, expanding support to the DoD RDT&E community

Named by Washington Technology to the 2023 "Fast 50" list, recognizing the fastest-growing small businesses in the government market

Awarded multi-year contract by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to conduct technical security assessments, provide technology expertise, and support the independent oversight of the Zero Trust requirements
