DevSecOps Engineer

BreakPoint Labs is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join our software development team. We are a team of about a dozen developers and operations people supporting a variety of applications across accreditation boundaries. We provide applications and tooling for a DoD customer, mainly in the form of web applications. Our primary tech stack is Python/Django/PostgreSQL, plus judicious use of JavaScript.  We value people who are able to work autonomously but are also not afraid to ask for help when needed. The position is remote but preferred locations include the National Capital Region, Dayton, OH, and Vicksburg, MS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhance our existing GitLab software development environment Implement automated monitoring for our software testing and deployments
• Research and implement automated security scanning tools
• Improve security logging
• Create and maintain technical and policy documentation

Required Experience:

• 1 year of experience in deployment and operation of web applications in a Linux environment
• Familiarity with Docker or other container technology
• Familiarity with DoD DevSecOps policies, practices and technologies
• Experience in writing CI/CD pipelines for software testing and deployment
• Good writing skills
• Ability to maintain IAT Level II DoD certifications

Preferred Experience:

• 3 years of experience in deployment and operation of web applications in a Linux environment
• 1 year of software development experience in Python, Django, JavaScript, PostgreSQL
• Experience using Ansible to automate the testing, deployment, and configuration of applications and systems
• Experience using Docker Compose and container registries
• Experience in scanning, securing, updating, and customizing container images
• Experience applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Experience with GitLab
• Experience with Git version control system
• Experience working in a DoD environment and knowledge of the accreditation process

Certifications Required:  Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]
Security Clearance:  Interim DOD Secret Clearance (Required); Must be clearable up to DoD Top Secret
