DevOps Engineer

BreakPoint Labs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a secure development operations environment. This includes automating deployment processes, managing infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration of security practices into our development and operational workflows. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cybersecurity concepts, especially defensive cybersecurity operations. The candidate will work closely with development teams, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of applications and infrastructure. This position is hybrid and ~80% remote. Candidates must be located within the National Capital Region (DC, Maryland, Virginia) Dayton, OH, or Vicksburg, MS, or willing to relocate to one of these markets.

Required Experience: 

• Proven experience with Linux server administration (preferably RHEL).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose for containerized environments.
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automating infrastructure and application tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot potential issues with web applications and network communications.
• Ability to maintain IAT Level II DoD certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience maintaining a DevSecOps environment with a focus on CI/CD pipelines and GitLab.
• Experience writing and running Ansible playbooks for configuration management.
• Familiarity with web application frameworks such as Django or Ruby on Rails for supporting application deployment and maintenance.
• Experience using databases such as PostgresSQL, MariaDB or mySQL.
• Experience configuring Grafana/Prometheus to monitor applications and systems.
• Experience maintaining and configuring an Elasticsearch luster.
• Experience working in a DoD environment with strong knowledge of STIGs, SRGs, and accreditation processes.

Certifications Required: Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]
Education Level Required:  Associate Degree within the Area(s) of Study Cybersecurity, Information Technology, System administration
Required DoD Clearance:  DoD Interim Secret but must be clearable to a DoD Top-Secret clearance
